Lakewood is in the heart of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. You can find Lakewood between Virginia Beach Blvd. to the North and Norfolk Ave to the South and it’s connected to a “sister” neighborhood of Pinewood to the South East. Lake Holly is to the East and Parks Ave is to the West. Some people mistake in calling this area “Shadow Lawn” but long time locals who live there will correct you proudly in calling it “Lakewood”.
Lakewood is a hodge-podge of dwellings of every type. Dwellings consist of 1920’s- 1940’s beach cottages and bungalows to the modern “Virginia Beach Style No-Fee” Duplex Condo’s. From small apartment complexes, duplexes and single family homes, it is all here and it’s only Blocks to the Beach!
